In 2025, Meize decided to hop on a personal challenge and created a mobile app concept that will blend many of our crafts. Creating a gateway to our world.
After many creative meetings and brainstormings, the Blob, a digital, pulsating creature, crafted from light and matter, was born.
In your hand, you hold a set of marbles each charged with a raw emotion: Fear, Joy, Anger, Sadness. You choose. You throw. The Blob absorbs and responds musically and physically.
Compositions and forms emerge, generated in real time based on the exact combination of marbles you select.
The challenge was to create a system where music is not just a decor but a direct interactive response. Every emotional combination had to yield something coherent, surprising, and musically satisfying, not just a simple variation in volume or tempo, but a genuine sonic transformation that faithfully reflects the specific emotions at play.
Joy + Anger sounds nothing like Joy + Fear. Sadness + Sadness + Anger is unlike anything else. Each state had to possess its own unique identity.
Overall, we needed to design not only individual tracks, but a living musical system.
In less than 3 months, we created the concept, designed and envisioned the Wwise architecture, composed the music assets, designed the shader and its responsiveness to the music along with the UI, conducted testing and debugging, and performed the mixing and sound design integration. Everything, entirely in-house.
For the music itself, we created sonic building blocks designed to coexist, layer upon one another, clashing, or harmonizing, depending on the emotions currently in play.
This represented adaptive music in its purest form, serving not a specific scene or game level, but rather a direct, visceral human feeling.
It demonstrates that MEIZE is capable of crafting a complex project that goes beyond music, from A to Z, from concept to final experience, taking over all necessary roles: composer, developer, designer, and art director.
Above all, it showcased our vision of what music can be: not merely another asset among many, but a living language, capable of responding, feeling, and evolving.
The Blob is our laboratory. And our laboratory never sleeps. We will soon take the blob on a deeper journey
